Health Psychology Qualifications Board

Chair, Chief Supervisor and Registrar of Health Psychology Qualifications Board - Dr. Mark Forshaw

Committee Role:

My main roles are BPS related. I Chair the Health Psychology Qualifications Board of the BPS, and also act as Chief Supervisor and Registrar for that Board; evaluating plans, dealing with queries, and all aspects of the Stage 2 qualification leading up to handing over to the Assessors. By virtue of this role I am able to contribute to DHP debates on training and take DHP views into account when revising regulations and procedures. I am previous Chair of the DHP Training Committee, and I Chair the BPS Qualifications Standards Committee, which oversees all BPS Qualifications across divisions.

Job title at place of work:

Principal Lecturer in Psychology

I work at Staffordshire University. My main role is as enterprise lead for the department, organising and conducting consultancy and developing short courses. My main research interests are in complementary medicine, communication and health knowledge, and I have published recent papers on hand-arm vibration syndrome, menopause, student health behaviours, homeopathy and tanning behaviours. I am also the author of a number of books and chapters, including books on statistics, conducting research projects, health psychology, complementary medicine, and teaching in higher education.
