DHP Scotland Representative - Dr. Michele Hipwell

Committee role:

Represents the interests of the Scottish Branch of the DHP on the national committee. The role includes enhancing communication between the two committees and disseminating information about the activities of the two groups. Education and Health are devolved in Scotland and this has led to different training and educational provisions and health policies in some cases. There is a need for information provision and consultation on joint and separate policies and activities.

Depute Director, Professional Doctorate in Health Psychology, Psychology, Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh

Programme leader for MSc. Health and Social Sciences and Depute Director for professional doctorate in Health Psychology at Queen Margaret University. Lecturer on MSc. and Doctorate course in Health Psychology and Doctorate in Health and Social Sciences. Currently director of studies for 10 health psychologists in training.

Research on mindfulness meditation for well-being in the community and in environmental sustainability, with an emphasis on community engagement and behaviour change projects with grass-root communities.
