Chair of the CPD Subcommittee - Dr. Sarah Peters

Committee role:

The CPD committee provides support for all DHP members’ continuing professional development needs. This includes identifying specific learning needs, running regular events and workshops, signposting members to relevant existing events, and providing advice and support about CPD requirements for members registered with the Health Professions Council.

Job title at place of work:

Senior Lecturer in Psychology, University of Manchester

My main research interest is how patients and health professionals think and communicate about illness and treatment, particularly in the areas of uncertainty, such as medically unexplained symptoms. I use both qualitative and quantitative methods in my research and am senior methods lead for qualitative designs in the North West Research Design Service. I am director of the MSc in Clinical and Health Psychology at the University of Manchester and teach a range of health psychology related topics on our BSc and MRes programmes.
