Admissions Committee

Chair, DHP Admissions Committee - Dr. Andrew Keen

Committee role:

Help inform BPS decisions about applications to various grades of DHP membership.

Job title at place of work:

Consultant Health Psychologist

I work 0.6 wte at the local children’s hospital where I lead a team that has been set-up to help children (and their families) who have significant problems related to medical conditions (diabetes; cystic fibrosis; cancer and so on). I also work 0.5 wte in the local adult diabetes service where I run group-level interventions (such as mindfulness based courses); deliver brief cbt-orientated interventions, and deliver training and supervision to colleagues across primary and secondary care. I work with various CBT course directors exploring how best to evaluate clinical skills, and evaluate mindfulness based interventions as applied to the patient-groups that I work with. I am involved in the design and delivery of a national project to increase psychology provision in diabetes services in Scotland.
