On behalf of the Division of Health Psychology, I would like to thank Dr Rachel Povey, Dr Sarah Grogan, their Local Conference Organising team, and the Staffordshire University conference organisers for hosting the successful sixth annual conference of the DHP, September 2003. Delegates perceived the conference to be well organised, friendly and of a good quality.

In addition, I would like to thank the Conference Scientific Committee for their time and integrity in assessing all 290 abstracts submitted this year. In brief, the conference content included:
