DHP ConferenceThe Division of Health Psychology holds one major conference in the second week of September each year. It is held at different Universities in the UK and it has now been running since 1998 [as a Division, though the first conference by the Special Group in Health Psychology was in 1989]. The conference has grown substantially since then, now attracting more than 350 delegates. The Conference Programme is put together by a Conference Scientific Committee, which consists of two members of the local committee, the National Conference Organiser, the Chair of the DHP, and two elected members. It attracts a high calibre of research papers, and delegates comprise academic health psychologists, as well as practising health psychologists and students in health psychology. The National Conference Organiser (Jo Hart) liaises with the local committee organisers, oversees the plans for the venue, accommodation, scientific programme as well as, of course, the social activities. She also reports back to the DHP committee. The next DHP Conference will be a joint venture with the European Health Psychology Society, at the University of Bath 2008. For any conference-related queries, please contact Jo directly.
