The Midlands Health Psychology Network (MHPN) is a forum for health psychologists to share clinical and research experience and information. We meet bi-monthly in the Midlands region. The meetings involve presentations, workshops and discussions focused around the issues pertinent to health psychologists both in practice and research. In addition, we host an annual conference and CPD training day.
We welcome members at all stages in their training and career as health psychologists. Existing members include MSc students, doctorate students and chartered health psychologists based at local NHS sites and regional universities.

Kent, Surrey and Sussex (KSS) Health Psychology Network
The Kent, Surrey and Sussex (KSS) Health Psychology Network is a forum for health psychologists, students and trainees in the local area. We meet quarterly to discuss matters relating to research, training and professional practice. Existing members include MSc students, PhD students, stage 2 trainees and health psychologists based in university, NHS and industry settings. South West Health Psychology Group
The South West Health Psychology Group is a forum for Health Psychologists, students and trainees in Bristol, Bath, Gloucester, Swindon and beyond. We are a new group, currently consisting of Health Psychologists, Stage 2 Trainees, researchers and postgraduate students working in the NHS, academia and industry. So far, we have held one meeting to discuss the potential of the group and one social event, both in Bristol.

North West Health Psychology Research Network
We are a network of individuals undertaking health-related psychological research to improve physical and mental health outcomes. The current membership of the NW-HPRN includes both academics and clinical practitioners: health psychologists (chartered and trainees), clinical psychologists, medical and nursing practitioners/researchers, epidemiologists and applied health service researchers.
For health psychologists, the network also provides information on professional development issues and a number of us are involved directly in the activities Division of Health Psychology.
Our aims: The principal aim of the network is to stimulate high quality applied research, informed by evidence-based behavioural sciences and to provide a forum for discussion, critical review and collaboration.
We also link individuals from a wide range of medical and health backgrounds with expert psychologists and behavioural scientists. We are committed to the promotion of high quality, multidisciplinary research and have been highly successful in bringing teams of researchers and practitioners together.
Current projects being undertaken by members of the network include:
· Interventions to reduce risk of skin cancer in young people
· Using risk information to optimise lifestyle behaviour change
· Best health outcomes for individuals with co-morbid conditions
· Supporting healthy lifestyles with individuals with severe mental illness
· Training health professionals to deliver behaviour change interventions
· Adherence to medication and lifestyle behaviour change advice for individual with long-term conditions
· Supporting GPs in reducing unnecessary antibiotic prescribing for upper respiratory tract infections
· Improving function for individuals with chronic pain conditions.
Themed research meetings are held at the University of Manchester around 4 times per year. In addition subgroups of Stage 2 trainees and supervisors meet regularly and we hold journal club meetings approximately 6 times per year.
We are a new network consisting of members from the Yorkshire area. Our members are Health Psychologists, trainees, students and people working in the field of Health Psychology. We are currently meeting once per month in order to develop the network. We envisage that once we are established, we will meet around four - six times per year. We also have an online communications forum so that members can contact each other in between meetings. The aims of our network are to:
· Provide and promote CPD opportunities.
· Promote Health Psychology and the work of Health Psychologists.
· Share updates on relevant policies and guidance.
· Share information about funding opportunities.
· Share useful papers and information.
· Stimulate collaborations within and beyond the network.
· Provide networking opportunities.
· Provide support to members.
· Share and discuss ideas of how to apply Health Psychology in practice.
· Share skills (e.g., in research, clinical skills, problem solving).
