Frequently Asked Questions about CPD

I am newly registered with the HPC. What does this mean for my CPD monitoring?

Statutory Regulation for psychologists was introduced from 1st July 2009. The Health Professions Council (HPC) is the new independent regulator and is responsible for the monitoring registrants’ CPD. HPC stipulate a number of standards for registered practitioners. The first of these is to maintain a continuous, up-to-date and accurate record of your CPD activities. Further information about HPC CPD requirements is available at http://www.hpc-uk.org/registrants/cpd/.

The BPS CPD Online System is designed to help you to plan and record your CPD and the Society strongly recommends that members use this as a way of maintaining an ongoing reflective record of their CPD. If you have any comments or suggestions for potential changes to the system please email them to cpd@bps.org.uk.
